Jorge Jabour Mauad - Bench/Stool in solid rosewood, 1960s design.
A beautiful pair of bar stools designed by Jorge Jabour Mauad , produced in Brazil around the 1960s. The pieces feature structures made of solid rosewood , highlighting the quality of construction and formal rigor characteristic of Brazilian modern furniture of that period.
The tapered legs are joined by lower crossbars , a structural solution that ensures stability to the whole and reinforces the geometric design. The seats are upholstered and covered in fabric , but will undergo restoration to bring back the saddle leather seat, respecting the original configuration of the piece.
As relevant historical information, this stool model was custom-made for the Cantu Móveis e Interiores store , originally specified with raw leather upholstery , a common practice in exclusive pieces aimed at interior design projects of the time.
The stools were photographed in their original state , preserving the patina, materials, and characteristics of the piece from the initial shot, which reinforces their value as authentic period pieces.
