Percival Lafer, Sistema modular sofá MP-123 com dois assentos módulo de apoio em freijó, design brasileiro anos 70 original

Percival Lafer - MP-123 modular bench, 1973 design, in freijó wood, steel and leather.

Dimensions: W209 x D66 x H67.5 cm. Seat height: 42 cm.

The MP-123 modular system, created in 1973 and originally intended for corporate spaces, features all its original period components , faithfully preserving the design and construction engineering of the project. The structure is composed of tubular steel bases, solid wood modules veneered in freijó wood, and complementary elements such as magazine racks in genuine natural leather.

The configuration shown features two seat modules and a wooden support module, all connected to the metal structural axis, following the demountable system designed in the 1970s. The cushions are upholstered in leather, following the construction standard, and can be replaced as needed by the customer without altering the integrity of the piece.

This is an authentic, vintage, non-reissued example, with exceptional preservation of the joints, hardware, wood and structural components, maintaining the original design and proportions.

This piece is cataloged in the book "PERCIVAL LAFER — Design, Industry and Market" Ed. Olhares, page 144, and has the following description, authored by Jayme Vargas: "A fully demountable modular system for corporate spaces, intended for the American market. The constructive details in steel and solid wood lend sophistication to the set, which is composed of steel bases in various sizes, wooden modules with leather cushions, an auxiliary table, and a magazine rack."
